Clinical data:

This was an incidental finding at autopsy.

Macroscopy:

The specimen shows, in the upper testis, a wide dilatation of the tunica vaginalis.
The visceral and parietal layers of the sac are quite smooth, and there is no evidence of active inflammation, naked-eye.
 

Comments:

Further examination of the accumulated fluid nevertheless showed it to be the result of a low-grade inflammatory process, as is confirmed by fibrous obliteration of the lower portion of the sac.
